A raven perched in silhouette against a full moon has shown up in stories for thousands of years, and it never really leaves. Ravens are the tricksters and messengers of folklore — in Norse myth, Odin's two ravens flew across the world every day and came back to tell him everything they'd seen. In plenty of other traditions the raven is a guardian of secrets, a symbol of intelligence, memory, and seeing clearly in the dark. Pair that with a full moon — the classic symbol for intuition, cycles, and the hours when the rest of the world is asleep — and you get an image that speaks directly to night people: the late-shift workers, the studio rats, the writers and DJs and drivers who do their best thinking after midnight.
